Ford Ranger vs Toyota Tacoma?

Q: like an early 2000s one.

which one is better? i know they're both reliable. i want someting cheap to maintain, rugged and practical.

A: A main problem you'll hear about is Toyota trucks rusting, so look all over the truck and bed for rust. One thing Ford knows best is how to build a truck. Personally I'd go with the Ranger.
