From the toyota recall, Which is a better car to get a 2009 nissan sentra or a 2006 toyota corolla?

Question 1
From the toyota recall, Which is a better car to get a 2009 nissan sentra or a 2006 toyota corolla?...
Recently, their has been a toyota recall!
Forget about the years. Which is a better car, Nissan or Corolla?

Answers
1)   I would go with the Nissan having to choose between the 2 cars you posted. Not that anything is wrong with the Toyota, but the Nissans are usually a bit cheaper when new. This means for a little bit more money, you'll have a new car and a warranty over getting the used car. - Derail

2)   Huh?

What does "From the Recall" mean?

It's hard to say because Mileage, options, and cost all play a factor.

You can't just randomly pick 2 car makes that are 3 years apart and ask which is better without more information. A 2006 Corolla fully loaded driven by a Grandma is better than a completely bare bones Sentra that was a Rental Car.

Yeah..... I don't think it affected the 2006 Corollas though. So it wouldn't matter if there's a recall or not.

What options does either have?

Again it takes more than just which is better. - Alan loves Toyota

3)   Both cars are a good choice-but do take Derail and Alan's answers as good advise.
(personally I lean towards Toyota regardless)
And as for the recalls-forget it- the media was bored and blew it out of proportion, you never heard another word after the Gulf oil spill. - Alexander Slazyk

4)   Get a toyota and a nissan

that's what I'd do unless your like another one of those people who cant pay of their credit debt.

but no seriously, you should test drive them both and see which fits you the best.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAA - Toyota Troll

5)   The 2009 and 2010 Corollas are a very poor choice. click the link below and it will show how awful they really are....Hundreds of complaints..at least 611 complaints ...of corollas with vehicle speed control problems, and over accelerations, as well as hundreds of complaints by buyers with terrible steering problems. Any choice other than a Corolla would be a better one. Good luck!

6)   toyota corolla because its has a better gas mileage - Hi Bye

7)   When I am looking at a used car I might buy, I go to the first source to see what actual owners have to say. Note that although there are no 2009 Sentra reviews, the 2008 reviews are all positive but a 2007 review mentions it had a master cylinder recall. Recalls are a good thing - design or build problems are almost universal and recalls fix them. There are a couple of bad reviews for the 2006 Sentra but they sound like malcontents.

The 2009 Corolla has a few negative reviews, about half are malcontents but two complain about drivability or stalling.

My own experiences won't help you much. The only Nissan I've ever owned (or probably ever will) was a 1984 300ZX that was the second most troublesome car I ever had. Toward the end I was literally chasing a new electrical intermittent every week. - Michael

8)   You also should compare car insurance quotes for cars before buying one, for example here - carquotes.fateback.com - Victor

9)   Hi:

Nissan Sentra is the stylish choice, but it is not going to be a good choice, due to its poor ride, and road noise. The Toyota Corolla is a much more refined car, with a soft ride. It shares many of its components with the Lexus IS, so it is close to its status in terms of ride comfort.
The Toyota recall is nothing to worry about. You can go to a dealer and have the problem with the carpet mats and pedals fixed, if not already done so already. The only reason why this recall is such a big deal is that because of the number of vehicles it affected. But in reality, the recall affects something pretty insignificant that can be fixed without a big fuss, if people just went to the dealer to fix their vehicle. Nissan's recalls all are mechanic issues, that are very frequently occurring as the car ages.

These things being said, I would say that the Toyota Corolla is the better car. Although the overall quality of Toyota I have to agree, has dropped, it hasn't dropped to a point that a Nissan Sentra would be of better quality than a Toyota Corolla.

I hope this helps :) Thanks, and have a nice day. - Thabit H

Question 4
2007 Toyota Camry 30K service!!!?...  We just did our 30K service at Toyota dealership, unfortunately there's a problem.

one of the mechanic didn't tighten up the radiator cap, so what happened is that the radiator coolant from the radiator came out. We have to go back and have the whole engine inspected again and coolant filled.

My Main Question is:

For the 30K service, power steering fluid and coolant reservoir was never filled by dealer,

do those need to be filled to the MAX LINE. The mechanic told us not to because they fluctuate when the engine runs hot. Is this true? (someone told me that this is a misleading information)

IS this correct or was I ripped off?
It has 30k because for the past 4-5 months only honda and Nissan was running toyota sat home

Why unemployment
I think I'll stick to Toyota, after all they're reliable.

Answers
1)   Yes they fluctuate when it gets hot. You need to check those fluids when they are cold. There is a coolant line that says max fill when cool. Ir it does on other models. Anyway, check that on level ground in the morning. Check the oil too. Most of the time adding power steering fluid isn't even needed if there is no reason to. So it's best to leave it alone. That fluid is synthetic anyway & will not die for many years. Sorry to hear about the radiator. This is where learning how to do that preventive maintenance is better than dealer rip off deals. That's where they make their most highest profit margins. - The Eagle Keeper

2)   when cold the radiator should be filled to the max and the overflow tank should not be filled to the max, have it filled up to low or a little above low - NiCk

3)   I am surprised it only has a Max line but then again it is a Toyota so I shouldn't expect much.

Now for the answer. A quality car won't have a "Max" line, it will have TWO lines, one that says "Full cold" and one that says "Full hot" all my American cars have two. "Full hot" is where it should be when the engine is cold and "Full cold" is where it should be after sitting overnight. In your case since they wanted to save about less then a penny on plastic you can only tell if it's full after the car has been driven. The it should be at the max line.

You expect less from Toyota, and you get it............ - Be strong go Army

4)   No you worry too much.Fluid levels go higher when hot. Just make sure you didn't lose too much coolant. - Bird
