Q: Contrast Ford’s strategy on Jaguar with the strategies employed by Honda, Toyota and Nissan. Why did the Japanese carmakers succeed while Ford’s initiative did not?

A: Well jaguars are notorious for falling apart after the warranty period/ being hideously expensive to fix and maintain. Honda Toyota and Nissan have a clear view on what they wanted their luxury counterparts (Acura, Lexus and Infinity) to be and who to sell their product to. Ford did not. Until the new redesign (I don't know if it was designed by ford or TATA) most of the model had the same lines since before I was born.
