Q: I was in a rush and throwing my back pack and stuff in the trunk of my car, while on the phone and I was all jumbled because I was late for this volunteer thing and I shut the lid with my keys inside.
And my car is locked. So. I can't get in. I called my dad, but he didn't answer. I called my mom who told me to call my step dad and he said we can't do anything without my dad because he has the other key. We think. He might not even have one. I mean, I hope to God he does. But he might not...
So what else could I do? Would an auto repair person come to my house within an hour of when I call and open the door? Can they do that?
I don't know what to do. I'm really embarrassed though because I've only had my license for a week and I'm pretty sure my dad is going to kill me.

A: get a set of slim jims and open the door of your car and either open the trunk through the trunk button in your car (if it has one) if not check to see if you can access your trunk through your back seat (alot of newer cars have this) and you can also open your trunk inside of it, there's a cable that you can pull which opens it (safety feature) and if you can't do this i would just go to a dealership and have a new basic key made, as long as you got your vin and basic info they will have one made up for you. I lost my keys to my toyota corolla so i went up to the dealer and had a new one made (not a fancy electronic key that NEW cars have); it was a basic key just to start it and it cost me 8 bucks, of course if you got a new car the key may cost quite a bit but so will a locksmith/mechanic. from now on keep a spare key inside a magnet case attached somewhere on your car or keep one in your wallet at all times.
